Australia played exceptionally to win their first two matches of the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. After their strong victory against Afghanistan, the Windies gave the Australians a run for their money. However, Aaron Finch and Co was victorious for 15 races. However, India made them try their first loss of the mega event, as they lost the match by 36 races at the Kenningt on Oval.
His next opponent is Pakistan at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton. The Men in Green started with a shambolic show against the Windies, but everyone was surprised, defeating the host and England favorites in Nottingham. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Co had bad luck as their match against Sri Lanka was eliminated. Placed seven in the points table, Pakistan can not afford a whirlwind by any means.
Like any other day, the forecast is not pleasant in any way. There are chances of a downpour throughout the day from morning to 9 AM until the end of the day. The clouds will make the atmosphere dark. The temperature will be between 12 and 16 degrees Celsius. Humidity is expected to be in the 70s and 80s.
The track in the previous match turned out to be good for hitting. The venue hosted its first ODI since the 1999 World Cup. The other day, there was not much for bowlers and hitting was not difficult. Teams are more likely to train first after winning the raffle. The DLS method can also come into play due to adverse weather conditions.
It is likely that the Australians will bring in Kane Richardson, who did well in the warm-up matches. The speedster will replace Marcus Stoinis, who has been excluded from the game due to lateral tension. David Warner and Aaron Finch have seen each other in a decent touch. Usman Khawaja batted to number four in the previous game, under Steve Smith, who has been in a state of amazement lately.
Glenn Maxwell adds the X factor in the batting lineup. Alex Carey was impressive with the bat the last time, as he played the big shots quite effectively. Nathan Coulter-Nile has not done well, especially with the ball and will be desperate to make amends. The responsibility will be on the pats of Cummins and Mitchell Starc to get the initial advances. Adam Zampa is the lone spinner.
David Warner, Aaron Finch (C), Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey (WK), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Kane Richardson, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa.
Pakistan can not make changes to its eleven. Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman are the opening hitters and both are in fairly decent contact. Babar Azam needs to be at his best since he is a vital part of the team. Mohammad Hafeez also returned to form with a winning blow against the Australians. Sarfaraz Ahmed is also not in the poorest forms.
Asif Ali can hit the ball hard and inject momentum into the innings. Shoaib Malik may have to play a massive role if Pakistan loses some early windows. Mohammad Amir will return to form and it will be a respite for the Men in Green. Wahab Riaz has also shot with speed and ferocity. Shadab Khan’s responsibility will be to restrict hitters in the middle.
