ICC World Cup 2019: England’s announces 15-man squad for the World cup

All discussions during the team selection would have been about having Jofra Archer on the team. Everyone from the highest ranks has spoken very well of the pace of the bowlers and is doing well in the current Indian Premier League (IPL). The selectors, however, have not included it in the preliminary team. Although it will be interesting to see how it is presented in the series of Pakistan, which is scheduled to play just before the mega event.

If Archer does well in that series, then the selectors could include him in the final World Cup team, which could be changed before May 23.

Apart from him, the two spinners, Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali, were always going to be chosen out of courtesy of their impeccable white ball show over the years. The rhythm attack that took place in the West Indies recently includes Liam Plunkett, David Willey, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes along with Archer.

Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (c), Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Alex Hales, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, David Willey.
